Zoe Sykes, Labour candidate for Stannington ward

Zoe is the Labour candidate for Stannington and is also standing for the vacant Stannington seat on Bradfield Parish Council. We are very fortunate to have an experienced and respected former councillor as our candidate; she has served as a Labour Councillor for West Ecclesfield and on Ecclesfield Parish Council, and really understands what the issues and concerns of local people are.

Zoe is a working mum, with a wide range of professional experience largely in the Public Sector. She has worked in the Health Service with adults with learning disabilities, in banking for the Halifax, in immigration for the Home Office, and as a traffic officer on the motorway for Highways England. Her day job brings her into the Stannington area regularly so she is familiar with the ward.

Her passion is working at grass roots level to support community groups, representing constituents with casework, and ensuring that Labour is providing services and a voice for those who are most disadvantaged.

She is a volunteer in various community groups in the North of the city, as well as on the district board of the Girl Guides, where she regularly leads camps.

She campaigns every Sunday with Stannington members and Olivia Blake (prospective Parliamentary candidate for Sheffield Hallam). She is running street surgeries here, and working with the local TARA (Tenants and Residents Association) to set up a Neighbourhood Watch scheme.
